What to do

What is the name of your state? NJ

My attorney has been difficult to work with since the beginning of my case. Her latest
mishap has been that thru my entire divorce she led me to believe my husband had agreed to pay my legal fees. She even used this as leverage to avoid me from pursuing a trial. Last week she informed me that the my X had refused to pay my fees, and it was taken to court. She never informed me that my X was disputing it. The only information she gave me when it was over was that the judge ordereed me to my fees. I continue to have unresolved issues, which she is supposed to complete. I told her once these issues are resolved she will receive her payment. I just received a letter from her stating she made a mistake in interpreting the judges ruling, and I owe more that she originally told me. In addition to another attorney handling a certain part of the case, she told me she will forward any information she receives from this attorney. She is still suposed to review with me, the information the other attorney is working on. It seems like she is indirectly dropping my case, and not telling me. I fear that if I pay her, she will not complete my case and "I'll be left out in the cold." How can I prevent thiis from happening?

Thruout my ordeal she never mentioned reviewing my final property settlement with me. She just expected me to sign the papers. I was the one that had to make her aware it was her responsibility to go over the papers with me. This is just one of the many mishaps I've encountered.

This women has lied to me continuously and has caused some serious problems by her neglecting important issues with my case.

Is there any recourse or place I can contact that will help me resolve this matter.

Thank you
