Where do I start if I want to retain an attorney I can afford?

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Sacramento, California.

I would like to know where to start when it is your first time finding an attorney? I'm trying to find an attorney I can afford. Does anyone know how much one costs in general?

How did the prostitution thing work out?

Anyway, if you want a lawyer, get the phone book and start calling.

OP, search the forums. This issue has been addressed several times, including a list of questions to ask and how to get referrals.

My answer to your question, "How did the prostitution thing work out?"

Lol. you are very funny. The reason why I am asking where to begin to look for an attorney is because I would like to find myself prepared next time when trouble strikes. I would like to have an attorney next time because of the following: first of all, I am not good in oral expression; I feel very uncomfortable publicly expressing myself when I am in the court room because there are other people in the background watching you or listening to you. Second of all, I would like to have an attorney because I figure he/she might be able to help win my case since they are sort of experienced; not only do attorneys have experience, a lot of them know how to bring out proper defense and offense.
