In Florida, I'd asked the dealer about a car's history, specifically that it had alot of miles for a 1 year old car. The salesman told me he didn't know any of the history. I ran one used car report that only indicated "one owner", but later I ran a Carfax report that said the one owner was a rental company.

If the car was purchased by the car dealership from a rental company, are they required to disclose that to me?

The salesman likely doesn't know the "history" of the car. It's up to you to perform your due diligence. Honestly, I'd rather buy a "high mileage" care from a rental agency than from a private party. At least the rental agency (theoretically) has a maintenance program.
