Recently purchased a Wolf range through Craigslist. The oven/range was guaranteed to work from the individual. Upon trying to use it the oven nor any electrical controls worked. I have all text message conversations saved including the guarantee of this item working. The repairs are estimated at $1300.

Small claims would be the appropriate forum. You will need to present the Court with the repair estimate.

Small claims is the right way to go, but I can honestly tell you that getting paid back is another story. Don't bank on it.

The rules of evidence are the same in small claims court, but there is a tendency to be less formal since the litigants are not lawyers. So you can join with small claims. You definitely get better result.
