My sister was royally screwed.

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Texas.

My sister didnt know much about cars and she bought a 6,000 dollars car from a company that sells cars near the border (Texas and Mexico) and this car was in HORRIBLE shape, when we took it to professionals they said its a wonder it hadnt blown up on her, she has two small children, and literally some of the engine had been held together with tape, melted hoses to fit that shouldnt be in there due to the wrong size, fuel lines tampered with. She refused to keep paying on the car and it sat in our driveway. It was repossessed and she has lost the money she had paid on it, about 2,000 dollars and now has a repossession on her record of credit. She is distraught and has no one to turn to and no idea what to do. Please help.

Help do what? She bought a car and didn't have it inspected PRIOR to purchase. What do you want anyone to do about that now?

She didnt BUY a car. She paid a downpayment on one. And it had been in at least one wreck and might have been a Katrina car according to the inspector who saw it after it started having problems very soon after he aquired the vehicle. And they disclosed no information on the prior incidents the car was involved in. Did I ask anyone to "do" anything about it? Its a forum for advice, and if you have none, then shut up.

You are right this is a form for advice, but when you hurl insults as you did the majority of us will abide by your request - we will all shut up.

Sucks to be you!

Agreed. Doesn't sound like sister was screwed. Sounds like sister asked to be taken for a ride, though.

Then who paid in full or is paying an auto loan for it?
She should have had the car inspected before she bought it.
