Private car saleWhat is the name of your state?What is the name of your state? Illinois About 6 months ago I have privately sold a car through the news paper, to the bayer who lives in MD. Car was is the great shape and as far as i know did not have any problems, it was sold as it is, now buyer is asking for $400.00 for repair, threat with a law suit. What should i do? | You have basically 2 choices, tell him to pound sand, or laugh in his face and hang up. You have no responsibility to him unless you guaranteed the car for this long of period of time which is highly unlikely. Even if the problems happened after 1 month, it would be his problem on a used vehicle for not having it checked out prior to purchasing.
