Is it a salvage title?

What is the name of your state? Arkansas

I recently purchased a used car from a private used car dealer. I was not informed that the car had been in an automobile accident. I am now finding out that the car had one previous owner. She was involved in an accident, and the title was signed over by her to her insurance company, who in turn, sold it to a privately owned used car dealer. This dealer, in turn sold it to the dealer I purchased the car from. 2 months after purchasing the car, I am having mechanical problems. Is there a law in the state of Arkansas requiring dealers to inform potential buyers that a car has been involved in an accident. Also, if the car was signed over to the insurance company by the owner, does that make it a salvage title.

Thank you

There's no law that they need to tell you about an accident, but they are required to tell you if it has a salvage title. If the title says "salvage" on it, then it's a salvage title. Pretty simple.
