Used car test drive.

What is the name of your state? VA
I test drove a 2001 Dodge intrepid. I told the seller I liked it and it seemed to be in good condition. I told the seller it would take me 10 days to get the money and he could pick up the car and hold it till then. Seller said to keep the car and to drive it around to make sure it was all right. We put 300 miles on the car wit several trips. The car died at a stop light. After looking under the hood we saw oil all over the engine. The car has been towed to a shop and they are looking at it. So do I still have to but this car if the engine is shot. I do feel bad for the seller but we have no contract and I sure don't want the car if it is a lemon.

You have no responsibility to buy this car. Walk away from the sale.
