What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Texas
My spose used to work a a burger king she got another job at aarons and she put in a week notice and then decided not to show up on the weekend. Well when she came in to get one of her final checks yesterday her boss chewed her out and told her it wasn't right what she did and she said she called aarons and told them what she had done . Is this considered character defacement?

She should never have given them notice in the first place. Notice is a courtesy, not a requirement, and that she first said she would work and then decided she didn't want to was really pretty poor of her, and it of course made the employer very angry with her, which precluded all the advantages of giving a notice in the first place, which is to make sure your former employer gives you a good reference.

So now Aarons is on notice that maybe she isn't too reliable. The best course of action would be to show them this isn't true by being a very reliable employee.

If anyone defamed her character, it was she herself, who said she'd work, and then decided she didn't want to.
