An individual posted on social media that I have a paranoid disorder. Is this grounds for a libel suit?
Is it grounds for a libel suit?

If the statement was false, and you were identified by name or identifiable by content, and the individual who made the statement was someone who would be one considered in a position to know your medical history, and your community believed you had the disorder as a result of the statements made by this individual, and you suffered reputational injury as a result (economic injury, mental anguish), then there could be grounds for a libel suit.

What is the name of your state, JugglingForCure, or, if not in the US, what is the name of your country?
