as i know your time is valuable i wiil try to just give overview:
following a fed investigation
i have been targeted by small town local law enforcment, i have never recieved more then a traffic ticket in my life, but after a disability and loss of ability to continue my prof career, i moved to a small town to try to rebuild, after selling a luxury car to a later found out drug dealer (large) i have been whirlwinded into literal hell, accusations, threats, humility, raids, ejection requests from niebors, survalance , 8 vehicle stops and searches within 7 weeks, surrounded ny local sherrif , demanding i leave town or i will be sorry,claining i was one step from jail for along time, i have witnesses claiming to be offered time off and/or money to entrap me, i have been robbed then ridiculed by authorities and they refuse to take reports of stolen vehicle and/or property, as unbelievable as it may sound it goes on and on, believe me i would leave but now broke and stuck in a percieved web of defamation , i finally come to my question and last straw of what i believe is total slander, i wont ask adice on the trumped up conspirosy, drug charges they have pending on me, but please tell me there is some kind of reslove and help with last weeks senerio, i sold furniture to women i meet at market where i try to sell goods, appliances etc for suplemental income, she paid with a check, upon depositing i requested it verified as the amount and cercustance uncomfortable, i didnt want to spend the money and overdraft my account if it was not good, the teller advises me that she coulf not get verified and asked if i wanted to try to present it myself aor they could put hold on the amount of deposit to confirm it cleared, as im waiting at drive thru i note a certain officer i have heard was extremely anxious to pin me w something , i was told numerous times of his asking others and tell ing them he would get me,,,hearsay i know so, i pull up as not to hold up line as it was taking awhile and i noted the officer circle talking w the bank employees , i went into branch figuring i would tell bank rep to please call me to let me know, small town credit union,,and me an ex bank business rep , passing the officer i accknoleded and gretted him as i walked on he grabbed my arm asking me to come w him i embarrrisin did, a few yards aways he asjed who i got check from i told him and he told me check was no good i repled i guess im ripped off again and you wont help right, he states no your going to jail, i tried to reason w him, he proceded to arrest me in front of a crowd claiming i wrote the bad check to myself and deposited it trying to drfraud the bank,???? so i wrote a bad check to myself deposited it in my own account and requested it held till it cleared and recieved nuthing??? i now am totally confused i got ripped off i get arrested, put in jail charged w 2 felonies, embarresed beyond belief w the small amount of dignity i thought i had in tact w bank, i recieved a notice today they are clossing my accounts due to managment concerns???? now im absoulutily belittled and slandered in my opinion , i am sunk,,,,and being i am nentally disabled i am not able as you can tell by the babling on here to decifer if i am nuts or can they do this to my life and i have no recourse ,,please advise, it may seen humoris but i assure you it is not to me , i sincerely thank anyone that can help, make it a great day!

i agree, seems theres got to be more to it. guilt by association is also aligned but is far from illegal, or with consprisy (new) laws maybe it is? my intent of this forum is to get a fair opinion if on the last scenerio of bank deposit arrest and way instituted would seem to be lible or slanderous? and my smoking days have been over long time ago but thanks for asking, also the ol yankee in a small southern town can be a little on the reasoning side too? thank you

Their claims about the check seem almost unbelievable, but then it is "podunk", and you just never know in some of those places. It wouldn't be the first time someone was singled out for being "different". It takes a few generations of inbreeding to fit in in some of those places. You aren't a gay Satanist who rolls through the streets with a big flaming devil on your wheelchair, are you?

UPDATE***SINCE ARREST FOR TRYING TO VERIFY CHECK, MY BANK CLOSED ALL MY ACCTS, FLAGGED ME IN REGISTOR SO OTHER BANKS WONT OPEN ACCTS, BANK LETTER STATED MANAGEMENT CONCERNS,,,,,,GRAND JURY INDITED ME (3) FELONIES CLAIMING I WROTE THE CHECK TO MYSELF AND DEPOSITED IT WITH THE KNOWLEDGE THAT I FORGED IT AND I KNEW IT WAS BAD, BUT THEY BELIEVE I THOUGHT I WOULD GET MONEY FROM IT, HOW THE HELL I DONT KNOW BUT, ANYHOW THE BEST PART;;;FIRST COURT HEARING TODAY I REQUESTED PUBLIC DEFENDER, AFTER 5 HOURS I WAS TOLD I WAS DECLINED, WHEN I QUESTIONED I WAS TOLD AGGRESIVELY "YOU NEED TO REPRESENT YOURSELF OR RETAIN AN ATTORNEY ON MY OWN"!!! i do see your point... if everything is what you say it is, then i do see this as being slander. as well, since your disabled, your not emotionally stable, you might want to get a letter from a doctor stating that your not 100%... i'm not sure if your on a lot of meds or anything, but if so, that could count for you. my mom was in a somewhat similar situation, and she's disabled and on a great deal of medication, this would make you in incoherent, and she was not allowed to be questioned, etc.

im not sure if laws are different in each state, but she's in tennessee and is also a "yankee"...

your best bet is to use your resoucres that you have... if that mean you have friends at home that might know someone or what.
DO YOUR RESEARCH... know what your rights are...
i would look for a pro-bono attorney... you might be able to look for someone online... I would contact attorneys, explain your situation, and that your LOW on funds, and they might be willing to do it for free... there are still some good attorneys out there!
i'm going to school for law - - so, i see cases like this a lot, i can try to help you a bit and my research, too.

have you asked the teller you spoke with about the check for any type of affidavit regarding your conversation about the check?

had you previously reported the police harrassment to any higher authorities?
