Ex Girl Friend Wants Furniture Back That was a GiftWhat is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CALIFORNIA Furniture and other personal items were given to me as a gift by an ex girlfriend. It has been over 1 and a half years since the breakup, and now my ex wants everything back. The ex (girlfriend) never lived in my house. She has threatened legal action. Do I have to give it back? Thanks to all who respond! What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? |

| no and if you can support your claim it was a gift, the courts are not going to force you to give it back, or pay an amount in value, either.

However, if you can prove that she in fact gave the property to you... then you have nothing to worry about. Bottom line... whether you have to "give it back" depends on whether you can prove your 'gift' claim.

Why has he spent over $1.35M in legal fees to block disclosure... rather than spend $12 for a VALID birth cert to settle the matter? The 'certificate' he has presented doesn't qualify to get a drivers license, wouldn't allow a child to qualify for Little League, or for a real citizen to get a US passport! |

| The judge would probably question why it took her so long to try to get the furniture back.
