What is the name of your state? MD

My brothers wife posted a terrible statement about me on a public chat and listed my name and where I live.

Do I have any recourse?

Thanks. What is the name of your state?

Reread the subject line. You say it was a "damaging opinion." An opinion is not considered grounds for legal action. You would also have to prove that you suffered actual damages from said opinion.

I'd have a talk with my brother about his wife's conduct. She has a problem.

If by "where I live," you mean she posted your address or information specific enough for someone to find you, you should contact the administrator of the forum and ask to have that portion of the post removed.

Or if it is a format similar to this one, report her post and a moderator would probably remove it.

Legally speaking, one's address is considered public information, and as such there is no guarantee that the mod will comply since he would not need to.
