What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CT

I have a female friend who while not thinking clearly sent a male "friend" several risque and one nude photo via text message. The two parties are no longer on good terms, the male "friend" is now threatening to expose her and has already sent/forwarded these photos and text via text message and email to several people in an attempt to discredit her character and disrupt her life in general. Although she made poor choices does she have any legal recourse? What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

Unless your female friend is a minor, or she made it explicitly clear in writing to her male friend that she wanted all photos kept private, she probably has no legal recourse.

I think any threats made by the male friend to "expose" your female friend at this point are sort of moot, anyway - she exposed herself by taking and sending the risqué and nude photos, and the friend has already distributed these photos to others.

Perhaps your female friend can simply ask her male friend to refrain from sending the photos on to anyone else. If the guy has any redeeming qualities at all, he will honor her request.
