What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? california.

My question is: i recently divorced my ex and we have been dealin with a custody suit i was granted my move away and now the ex father in law has submitted a letter to the court full of false statements about me that i can otherwise prove.. what i want to know is do i have a libel case against the ex father n law since on his part its all hear say anyhow.. the courts did not over turn thier judgement n did not acknowledge his ex parte notice

A defamation action cannot be based on what is stated during, or when related to, a court proceeding, regardless of the falsity of such statements. Sorry.
