What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? TEXAS
THIS IS A QUESTION IN BEHALF OF BY BROTHER. HIS WIFE HAS BEEN UNHAPPY FOR A VERY LONG AND HAS WANTED OUT OF THEIR MARRIAGE FOR QUITE A WHILE. THE LATEST THING THAT HAS HAPPENEND IS THAT SUDDENLY " A LADY" CALLED MY BROTHER ON HIS CELL PHONE ( MY SISTER IN LAW HAD HIS PHONE, HOW CONVENIENT ) , SAYING THAT THEY HAD BEEN SEEING EACH OTHER FOR 2 MONTHS. MY SISTER IN LAW CONFRONTED MY BROTHER AND HE DIDNT KNOW THIS LADY. HE GOT ON THE PHONE AND TOLD THIS LADY THAT HE DIDNT KNOW HER. ( I HAVE HIS PHONE RECORDS AND HER NUMBER DOESNT SHOW UP ON THEM ) NOW MY SISTER IN LAW HAS MORE FUEL TO FILE FOR DIVORCE AND PUT HIM ON THE STREET. MY QUESTION IS THAT CAN HE FILE FOR SLANDER ON THIS "LADY"?

Anyone can sue. Not everyone has a suit with merit enough to win.
