Ok, clearer picture needed here on drunken telephone harassment..I was interrupted while posting my initial question. Missing item: We have over an hour of messages she has left, all date and time stamped from my answering machines, from most previous binges for the past 3 years, with her threats from guns, knives, vehicular threats, and just plain nasty names for 'hiding her husband', 'knowing where the gun is to shut my family up', and "I know how to use the gun on a white trash family for hiding my husband', etc, etc, etc. (apparently her husband doesn't come home when she's high - go figure). She's a drunk and a real menace to herself and others, including her own husband.

#2 problem her regular time to biggie binge is holidays, so if we can do something we'd like to pursue it now with the holidays right around the corner. And, 'encouraging her to get help', been there and done that too, taken her to rehab 2x where she blew 3 times over the CA legal limits. Her DH leaves her a vehicle and when she earns a free days she goes and drinks...it's not court mandated, she can leave anyway. They encourage a family intervention but she refuses and drives home, does AA for a month, and starts all over again. If we do something, maybe this way the court can get make her legally get help...Not that it would help if she's not ready for it, but I really want out of this loop... thanks for the input.
