What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? florida
i want to know if there is anything that can be done about my niece posting things on the net that are untrue about my daughter and her husband
this is what happened
she was given a bithday present of passes for disney and a condo for 6 days
upon the first day they were told what to do and when to do it things got worse on the 4th day they were told to pack up and leave so they did but now her cousin is now putting on facebook and getting comments on it she then deleted the stuff she had put on it but my daughter saved what she had posted on facebookWhat is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

Whether there is anything that can be done about your niece, who posted and then deleted untrue things on Facebook about your daughter and son-in-law, depends on EXACTLY what is was that your niece posted and then deleted about about your daughter and son-in-law, and can depend on a whole host of other facts not disclosed here.

Not all untrue postings are defamatory, and not all untrue and defamatory postings can lead to a successful defamation action, and not all untrue and defamatory postings that can lead to a successful defamation action are worth pursuing.

Your daughter can show the Facebook postings to an attorney in her area, and go over all of the facts surrounding the postings with this attorney, to get an idea if she has any legal action she can, or should, take against her cousin.
