University Problem

Hi, I have a problem at university but I dont know whether I have a case or not.

I submitted my thesis at university and the 1st time they said that the quality wasnt good enough so i had to resubmit the thesis. The 2nd time I submitted the thesis they said that the quality was good but they found a paragraph which was not referenced from a site online. (plagarism)

The paragraph was already there in my 1st submission and if they had noticed it in my 1st submission i would have had the opportunity to redo my thesis but now that they have found it in the 2nd submission I dont have the possibility to resubmit the work.

Do you think i have a case here ... or I should just find a job?

My only excuse for the above action is that I'm not experienced in referencing

Thanks

A case for what? Can you sue? Of course you can although there is no guarantee of winning. For an appeal? That depends on the guidelines set by the University for considering appeals. Have you spoken to your faculty advisor about the issue and if so, what is his/her advice? Can he/she speak to the department chair about the issue? I'd say do your best on going through channels to get this resolved as an honest mistake. If you have to push it with a lawsuit or formal challenge, the evaluation of your thesis may be biased. Good luck.
