What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Texas

If on a life insurance policy no beneficiary is named, who would receive the monies? If this person were married is there any law that states the spouse automatically gets it?

Thank you in advance for any advise you can provide.

Generally, if there is no beneficiary or if the beneficiary(ies) are deceased, then the proceeds are payable to the deceased's estate. How the estate is distributeed depends upon the deceased's will or the Texas intestate succession statutes if there is no will.

It will go into the estate and the surviving spouse will automatically get a certain portion of it (or all of it) by right, depending on how much the policy is.
