Cashed in life insuranceWhat is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Illinois My Grandfather just passed away, and my uncles and I found out all the life insurance was cash in years ago, and grandfather had no knowladge of that. We were looking for them before grandfather passed. We did find out through the insurance company that one of my uncles policies were forged 3 years ago, because he is on disabilty, the gov. took his benifits away. How can I find out about the other missing policies? What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Illinois |

| HOW did you all find out that the life insurance had been "cashed in years ago"? How much were they worth? Who are the likely suspects that would have done that--did grandfather do it and forget about it, would his wife have done it, another relative? Did he give power of attorney to anyone to handle his finances? If grandfather knows the names of the insurance companies he can contact them himself to find out what happened--he is the only one the insurance companies can give out information to. | Per OP's post, the grandfather recently passed away.

| I'm still waiting for an answer as to how they found out the policies had been cashed in. |
