I've searched...

As an alimony recepient I know I have an insurable interest in my ex husband's life. How do I go about buying a term life insurance policy for my ex? He had a whole life policy at the time of our divorce which cost over $500/month and I could not afford it (because it would factor into our property settllement) so he dropped it. His attorney said I could buy a life insurance policy on him but I have no idea how to go about it. I'm thinking about a $100K policy not megabucks.

This was not court ordered by the way - this is something I could not afford three years ago and now I think I can.

In most cases you will need your ex's willingness to go along. Buying the policy is no big deal. Why do you think it is?
