Insurance benefits

Florida. Last week I received a small check and a letter from our life insurance company saying they should have terminated coverage of our dependent two years ago when he turned 25. We have had the policy for many years and didn't remember him being on the policy because they only send a bill quarterly and it doesn't say who is covered. I can't find the policy. Well, our son died last year, does anyone think we should be able to get his benefit?

What is the payout value of the policy? Was this a policy purchased through you or your husband's place of employment or separately outside employment?

First ask the insurance company for a copy of the policy so you can read the fine print--what they are alleging may be correct.

Do a GOOGLE search to find out the website address for the Florida Insurance Commissioner and file a complaint with him about this so he can investigate.

Today, there is no shortage of investment options for a person to choose from. Modern day investments include gold, property, fixed income instruments, mutual funds and of course, life insurance. Given the plethora of choices, it becomes imperative to make the right choice when investing your hard-earned money. Life insurance is a unique investment that helps you to meet your dual needs - saving for life's important goals, and protecting your assets.
Life insurance is the only investment option that offers specific products tailormade for different life stages. It thus ensures that the benefits offered to the customer reflect the needs of the customer at that particular life stage, and hence ensures that the financial goals of that life stage are met.
According to a report released in September 2005 by the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation, employer-based health insurance premiums have increased 73 percent in the past five years. Over the same period, the percentage of businesses offering health insurance to their workers has declined steadily.
