What is the name of your state? Virginia/Maryland

I am in Virginia. I have been talking to an 18 year old girl who is going through many things in here home. Sexual Abuse, Physically Abuse and Emotional Abuse. She is being kicked out of her house. My husband and I are debating having her to come live with us. We are trying to figure out the legal things that could go along with this. Please give me your advice as soon as possible. She has no where to go!!!

At 18 she is an adult free to come and go as she wishes.

Of course, this is the Internet. How do you KNOW she is 18 and are you willing to accept legal responsibility for harboring a runaway, kidnapping and a plethera of other charges that could be levelled against you IF she is NOT 18?

I never said she was on the internet. We have some of the same friends. They are all older than her. I know her very well. If I have proof she is 18, is their anything else I should be concerned about?

She is an adult, you are an adult. Unless you plan on adopting her or including her in illegal activities, or her you, there is nothing in the law that precludes adults from living together.
