Question

I live in Mississippi and I need to know what the age of parental consent to get married is in Mississippi. And if it is under the age of 18 then is there anything a parent can do about it when you do decide to get married???
Thanks

i am assuming that you are the child and wish to marry?

okay - here is all the usual things summed up in one. "you don't know what you are getting into", "you are rushing into things", "if he loves you, he will wait until you are older", "things are not as easy as happily ever after", "marriage is hard enough when you are older, you are just to young".

okay - lecture over. i left my parents home at the age of 17. moved in with my high school sweetheart - who was attending college. lived with him until i turned 18 and got married. all of which, was against my parents wishes. they did everything including the threats of having the law involved.

the moral of the story? my parents knew a little of what they were talking about. we were way to young. this may indeed be the love of your life and you were "faited" to be together. but you know what? if it is, he will be there when you are older. start your life as an individual. get to know yourself, set yourself up in what you want to do for the rest of your life. where you are going, what you want and then include someone to share that life with. don't set your life around a person.

okay. i am done.

the official requirements for getting married in Mississippi -

Age Requirements 21
Cost $21.00
Waiting Period 3 Days
Valid For 3 Months
Identification Identification
Blood Test Required
Residency None
Telephone Number Call County Clerk in wedding location
Internet Address None
Other If under 21, requires parental consent. Requirements may vary from county to county.

Here is something FUNNY!!!!!!!!!

Do you remember that first kiss? The way that your toes curled? Those dreamy eyes?
You just couldn’t stop thinking about them? Seemed like forever every time that you were apart?

That’s the same “jerk” and “SOB” that you are here whining about now!!!!!
