alimony for how long????


What is the name of your state? california
i just need to know for how long i need to pay my wife alimony...she have a living boyfriend for 1 year and i just got married again and is not easy...she gets 2 incomes and never work.What is the name of your state?

Alimony


Your paperwork should state how long the alimony is to last if there is a specific cut off date. Sometimes it is left open untill remarriage. A woman I once worked with was able to beat the court system for years because she had a live in boyfriend, but when she got divorced, it said the alimony would continue until she was remarried. Little did she know though, that after 7 years she was consitered common law married and her ex husband was able to stop paying. She screwed herself, but moreover, she screwed her ex for 7+ years out of money while she had a boyfriend.
