Am I liable too?

My husband had a legal battle 6 years ago trying to avoid losing his State License(that info witheld). He just recieved a demand letter in the amount of $43,000+ from the firm that paid the legal fees trying to fight to save his licensure. I don't feel like this should be a household liability and may result in bankrupcy. This was not my mistake and I don't feel I should be attached to this liablity. Do I have options in removing myself and our household from this liability and/or bankruptcy? How can I be sure this is his and ONLY his liabilty without ruining our already damaged credit in result of this issue?

**A: you really can't be sure but Teaxs is once of the better states for homestead and that type of protection.

You can't. Texas is a community property state, and his debt is your debt.... and yours is his.
