assets protection and divorce

What is the name of your state? California
I am getting married soon but my husband-to-be is concerned about protecting his 401k in case for some reason I am sued (car accident, etc) Can a pre-nup protect his 401k asset if an outside party sues me personally? If not and I am sued, can we get a divorce quickly to protect his 401k?
