back child support


i live in san antonio texas and was ordered to pay 4845.00 in child support arrearage at 12% per annum simple intrest at a rate of 50.00 dollars per month untill the oldest child reached 18 years of age at that point it would go to 134.00 a month he turned 18 in feb of 2000 how much longer do i have to pay on the arrearage or how do i calculate it

A long time... if you were only ordered to pay $50 a month, then all you were doing is paying off the interest. You still owe $4800 dollars.. not including the CS amounts from the time of this order until the child was 18. At $134 a month you then start to pay the principle at approx 1000 a year.

You must keep paying until it is paid in full. You should be able to request a pay record from the department you make the payments through showing the balance due to help you keep up with how much you owe.
