Mu husband left a good marriage of 23 years for a yonger women. There are several things in the property seatelment I"m not sure of. He has a house given to him by his father just before he died. He says the value of the house is his only. His father lived with us before he died. I was the care taker. My husband was working out of town. I do not know if this would be a factor. He also says some moneies his father gave us befor he died was his only & should be deducted from our access.

Hon, if you don't have an attorney you need to get one. Whether or not the house or the money would be considered to be his separate property depends on state law and how the money/property was gifted. An attorney can best protect your rights.
