brother moved in - now he wont leave

What is the name of your state? north carolina
I recently purchased a home. about 4 months ago my brother came to stay while he got his home "repaired/remodeled'. nothing has happened with his house. no repairs have happened. he is not contributing toward the bills, and will not talk about it when i ask. can i have him removed and if so , how?
