Business Ownership/Divorce in IN

What is the name of your state? I live in Indiana and have been married for 33 years. We purchased a business and rental properties 25 years ago. This is my soon to be ex's sole income. I want half of the value of the properties since I paid for them and do not get any income from them. Am I entitled to that? Also I am a professional and my ex says if I ask for half of the business he is asking for half of my income. I went to college and paid for it prior to our marriage he did not contribute to my education, can he get half of my income?

You are entitled to half of the marital property. That includes the rental properties and the business.

He IS NOT entitled to half of your income. However, if you make signficantly more money than he does he may be entitled to some alimony. However, that won't be 1/2 of your income.

I suspect that you need to get yourself an attorney.
