Question

My ex and I were married and divorced in the City of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. He spent thousands of $ refusing me spousal support. I had to walk away with out as I was using up most of the equity in my home to fight this issue. I do receive child support.
Last week, (Apr 2-7/01) he remarried in Hawaii. I'd really like to know if this will affect our financial agreement in ANY way. He and his present wife have well-paying jobs and I have had to apply for CPP-Long Term Disability which I haven't heard their reply as yet. I am trying to survive on child support only and I'm getting ready to sell my home since I cannot afford my basic living expenses (exluding food, clothes, car ins., etc.)
I'm considering giving the Courts here (in Hamilton) a current copy of my Tax Return, at which time he will be required to provide same.
If the Courts decide that, since my standard of living is well below the poverty line (I'm also the mother of our two children/joint custody) they may make a decision to raise my child support, but will his marriage in Hawaii affect whether or not both his and his new wife's income will be taken into account?
I hope this question is clear enough for a reply,,, if not, please e-mail me back anyway and I'll try to reword this. Thank you very much for your anticipated reply!
