Personal Property Dispute

Please help!

Late in 98" I was living with a girlfreind in Texas. I had no credit and needed a new vehicle. She co-signed a loan and ended up being the primary signer to get a lower interest rate on a three year note. Both names are on the title and registration. I made all the payments, maintained insurance and paid for all repairs, all receipts and copies of check's have been kept by me. I broke off the relationship 6 months before we were to be married, mid 2000. The car was paid off in 2001. All payments were on time and there were no issues to her credit. The lein holder sent the title to her and she refuses to sign it and turn it over.

She is carring a grudge, since we were supposed to get married and she recently found out that I was just married. She has now asked me to reimburse her for part of the wedding we had planned, total $2,350.00. Which is half of what we spent together on the ceremony and reception. She will not turn over the title to the car until I do so. I had offered to pay her this money when I left her, out of guilt. I feel like she had her chance then to recover the funds. I believe that we have two separate issues and they should be resolved that way. I did not notice that I did not have the title until recently when I wanted to buy a new car and trade my car in. What can I do to get this resolved and do I have a case for small claims to retrieve my title? I do not want compensation, just the title. Can I keep these issues seperated with two different cases? I have tried to do research on this and can not locate any similar cases.

Thanks!
