| | | | charging dad w/ felony nonsupport i live in colorado and have been attempting for 5+ yrs to collect support, now totalling $90,000. the d.a. has attempted to find & serve him and are convinced his family and friends are covering for him. (he also has another child support obligation in same court.) he works for cash, has no property, bank acct, etc. the d.a. now says there is nothing else they can do. i know i will never collect $$ and want him in jail.
i know that felony nonsupport is rarely filed but i want to try in this case. what are my best chances? who do i speak with? how can i help convince them to file? what else can i do?
he has outstanding misdemeanor arrest warrants and i want to be sure that when they catch up with him he answers to us and stays in jail. thank you! |

You answered your own questions; i.e., "when they catch up with him . . . " he will be prosecuted. It's just a matter of him being "found".
