i live in ohio. i have two questions concerning my rights as a mother in determing visitation of my two year old. first, her father wants her to spend the week-end with him but refuses to let me know where he is living and will not let me have a phone number to his residence. second he wants to take her out of state and i am totally against her leaving the state without my approval. what are my rights, in determing visitation? |

If he provides you with all relevant details, then during his court ordered visitation, he can take the child out of state.
This visitation is court order right?

no, the visitation is not court ordered | Then you do not have to allow ANY visitation, period. Although this can work against you in court, in your situation it would not. No judge is going to slap you down for denying visitation when the father refused to release basic information to you.
Please tell me you at least have court ordered custody?

Then, for the safety and security of your child, and for your own peace of mind, I would strongly encourage you to get into court for child custody, visitation, and support orders.
No, custody is not automatic - especially without court orders. It may be common for judges to award custody to the mother, but without court order in place, either parent can take the child wherever they want.
You need a judge to give you both the rules and the guidelines, so that neither parent can take advantage of the other by using the child as a pawn.
Get to an attorney to get the ball rolling.
