Cohabitation -- state of CT

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

CT state

Our mother is 75 and want to live with a friend. They plan to exchange rings, and private vows, but not marriage. What is the law regarding her new partners legal right to her estate / wealth?

CT does NOT recognize common law marriage. Her new partner would only have the rights your mother would grant him/her in a will/living will/other legal document.
