Common law and contested divorce

What is the name of your state? ks
I lived with my "husband" for 4 years on 5/15/05 we filed bankruptcy which in the sate of ks makes us common law. In july we seperated, I do not want a divorce, any advice on how to prove to someone you have changed and want to stay together.

I am sure there are many sites out there that can assist you in your endevour but this is a site for legal advice.

You would best be served by a realtionship support group.

Kansas: For a man and woman to form a common-law marriage, they must: (1) have the mental capacity to marry; (2) agree to be married at the present time; and (3) represent to the public that they are married.

Did he agree that he was married to you? Filing bankruptcy doesn't necessarily mean you were married. It may help show it but it doesn't mean you were.
