Common Law in Ontario

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
I moved into a house and share the rent with a male. People are telling me that the law will look at us in 6 months and say we are married? He has been a friend for years and we thought by sharing the house we could pay our bills and get ahead. My divorce will be through in 2009

US Law only.
