Consent from both. Please help. What is the name of your state? New Jersey I have a 2 year old son. When he was born I did not have him circumcised. (Long Story) I have changed my mind and would like to have it done. He keeps getting rashes etc down there and I think its best to have it done and easier to potty train. and I want him to look in my opinion normal. However, I am divorced now and my husband will not sign the consent form to have it done. I have doctor reports stating that he has constant rashes, penile adhesions and phimosis. But they will not perform the surgery without both parent signatures. My question is what steps do I have to take to over ride my x husband? Will I have to pay a lawyer to have a judge to give me the ok? and what are the chances the judge will allow me to do it? |

| You will need a court order signed by a judge giving you sole right to make this medical decision. Or you will need dad's agreement if you have joint legal custody. YOu do not necessarily need an attorney.
