Question

Court Judgement Enforcement

What is the name of your state? TEXAS
My wife who received final divorce and court judgement in her favor, after long court battle, is now trying to collect on the judgement. It is for several thousand dollars. Knowing we may never see a penny of the money we've invested into the court battle, here is our question:
How can we enforce a family civil court judgement?
If we can't how do we get the bad debt onto the other partie's credit report?
Thank you.

You can enforce a family court judgement through contempt charges against the other party.

However, realize that even though the family court ordered the other party responsible, the creditors will hold responsible the person who signed the contract. So as far as creditors and getting one persons bad debt put on another persons credit report, it is unlikely.

On the credit issue, I was more interested in posting the defaulted judgement to his credit report. Is that possible and what's my first step? Thank you.
