CPS worker abusing their position!!

I have been neighbors with a woman that lives 2 doors down for 11 years. For about 8 of those years now we have not got along. She became a DHS worker for the CPS dept. about 5 years ago, and it's been he!! ever since.
About 5 years ago she made a cps complaint on us because my husband and I got into a little argument in my front yard. A worker came acting like she owned the place and I exercised my right not to let her in. So we ended up in court and won. That was the end of it all until a year ago.
A year ago her husband beat my cat in a very brutal way. I take cat to vet , cat lived but with deformed face. A couple months later she would constantly call the police trying to say my kids called her the b-word or something. The police were getting tired of her calling them for such things as my kids didnt ever speak to her, nor did my kids have any ill will towards her.
One night my 16 year old was sitting on our porch with her friend and they observe this woman's husband come out on their porch with what appered to be a shotgun. My daughter asked him what he was doing with the gun and he gave her a mean look an went in. My daughter got scared and dialed 911, the police came and drew him out of their house with their guns drawn on him. Come to find out it was a BB gun and he was looking for an animal to shoot, but the police said my daughter did the right thing because we live in the city & the gun did look like a shotgun. Two days later my cat was badly beaten again. So my daughter goes to ask the woman why her husband keeps hurting our cat. The woman gets hostile towards my daughter and slams her door. Next thing we know the police is at the door asking my daughter if she threatened this neighbor and all kinds of things. So then I get a summons for my child to be in court for disorderly conduct/harassment .
The complaint said that my daughter threatened her on numerous occasions and she constantly was in front of neighbors house yelling profanities and so on and so forth. This was all a lie and we have witnesses to prove it. We go in front of magistrate, my daughter pleads not guilty, but I had to go see a probation officer b-for we have hearing with Judge. I inform probation officer that we will fight it all the way because this complaint was made in retaliation for my child calling 911. We get to court and they change their minds about any plea with probation. My child's attorney said they want to adjourn the hearing for 90 days and if my child had no complaints then it would be dropped as if it were never filed, so we agreed. We go to the last hearing and the prosecutor agrees to drop the case , but she had to make a point that the complainant was a DHS worker. Then I knew this neighbor was abusing her position as a DHS worker to abuse my child.
The last hearing was in March and right b-for that her husband shot my dog in the face 5X with the BB gun & he did end up killing the cat. I am compiling evidence to have him accountable for that and will be taking them to small claims for vet bills.
I decided I needed to do something to prevent this neighbor from abusing my child again and using the "I'm a DHS worker" syndrome. So I contact the State through E-mail about it and they tell me to write a letter to the state director of DHS along with all the information. The DHS worker neighbor gets wind in her ear about me writing such a letter and what do you know I had a caseworker at my door June 1st. This time I believe the worker is a friend of the neighbor, because when I answered the door she was such a bi*** right from the start , and I do believe I have seen this worker at neighbors house b-for. Also she was so quick to say she was opening a case based on my 12 year old getting bitten by her pet rat. I'll deal with it, I have security surveillance ready and the 4th amendment and the 14th amendment posted on the door along with surveillance notice and I take pictures of everything, so I'll be ready for court. I welcome the thought of brushing up on my personal skills.
I know this is not the end of it all. This neighbor will continue all summer long unless she is stopped. I am so tired of the mental abuse this all puts on my children. I also think she makes these complaints to cps to have access to the case. She is nosey like that.
Sorry this is so long but from reading on here details are needed. My question: Should I send a letter to more than the state director of DHS? What else can or should I do to stop this?What is the name of your state?

Why should I move? I'm a home owner with no mortgage, not a renter. Besides I don't run from problems. I face them head on.

Hon, I also faced some problems head on, and my child ended up paying the price for my stubbornness.

If you didn't have children at home I wouldn't suggest that you move. However, you DO have children at home.

you can always contact the grand jury. You can put in a complaint with them. What about the director of the CPS department? Have you spoken to that person? You sould try that person. They probable don't even know it's going on. You could also contact your local news paper, the CPS hate bad media. I know, I work for CPS in another state.

I understand what your saying LdiJ, but what about the next child she does this to? Im not the only neighbor she does not get along with & we all have children.
Thanks Patty, I think I will check about the grand jury & I have a friend that works at the newspaper. Im already sending a letter to the director of cps. Someone suggested the state representatives office as well.
Today a different worker came by and she was very nice & professional. My kids loved her and she made them feel at ease. I let her know about the whole situation and she is going to see what she can do to get this stopped. She said she was closing the case for the complaint. Not all cps workers are bad just the rotten apples that make them look that way. Thanks to all for your replies!!

Some "newer" cps workers can be real aggressive. They want to show their stuff in the beginning. Burn out rate is around 8 yrs. on that particular job. Although true, I would suggest that if you contacted by a letter, to your State Attorney General and a copy to the state director and county director (all certifide mail)of what is going on, exactly as you stated in your post. In a county agency, the staff work hard at sticking together. It is a tough job so they have to but unless they have an open minded supervisor things like what is happening to you can go on. A good agency usually weeds out the bad ones over time, but the life you and your family are living should not be happening and you are a tax payer, paying this woman's wages as well as all tax payers in your state. Hope this is helpful. I have seen in the past that although a district investigator may be brought in to view a local county situation they can be sympathetic to the county agency and lean in their favor.

Update......Last Friday the CPS worker neighbor was moving out . I wrote the letters to the attorney general , state rep & Director of DHS last week and next thing you know she moved. She may still be in the same town but at least she is off our street. Another neighbor played "Hit the road jack ", that was to funny. Now maybe things will be peaceful... sigh!!! Couldn't you have reported them for injuring and killing your cat, and shooting your dog in the face? I know it is hard to contain a cat in your yard, but was your dog in your yard when the husband shot it?

I'm glad they moved, and playing the Hit The Road Jack song is funny... but I hope it wasn't played where they could hear it. Don't make crazy people mad! They can still come back to do stuff!
