Debt question for innocent spouse.

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Missouri

Is there any way to keep credit separate if you marry someone who has debt that he accumulated prior to the marriage, and you don't finance together on anything? Also will his tax situation affect me if we file separately?What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

keep separate bank accounts. Do not cosign anything together. Do not be on property titles together. Do not file taxes together. Those will aid in keeping finances separate and so that you will not be responsible for his debts in any way.
