Divorce

What is the name of your state? Illinois
Divorce not final until Mar. 24. Wife wants part of settlement that has only parts agreed upon. Asking for 35, 000, wants 20,000 now to put down on a house so she can go ahead and move. Should the husband go ahead and give it to her if it is drawn up that it is part of the settlement and notorized? Or should he wait until divorce is over. Attorney is out of town for 2 weeks and cannot be reached. She wont sign an agreement because she wants monthly mainteance that his attorney says she will not get. No kids at home all grown and moved out. Both have good jobs.
What do you think?

Would you give me $20,000 on that basis and without an agreement in writting that it is to be debited against any settlement agreed on and sanctioned by the court?

I don't think it's right of you to make fun of us...I am sure YOUR life is PERFECT I don't believe you are here to judge us or make fun of us..I believe this is a legal forum in which people come to your for serious advice and not sarcastic answers...I have read many of your posts and that is exactly what you are doing....I am extremely insulted by this..we are just plain old working folks that have made mistakes and trying to get on with our lives. give us a break..we are trying...and to learn..thats all..If you don't know the answers to your audience's questions, please don't reply with sarcastic answers...we have enough problems.
