Do I need a lawyer/subpoena?

Good evening and thanks in advance for any help you may provide. We are located in CT and I am in the unfortunate position of recently being told my wife has been having an affair for the past year or so (from a third party). I've noticed she's been deleting all of her texts each night before returning home and before confronting her I would like to see if there was a way to see those messages. From what I have been told, for legal reasons they might be stored on Verizon Wireless' servers but are only accessable by court order. The account is in my name, not hers, so I was wondering if it would be possible to get at these without going through the courts and potentially hurting a marriage if she is in fact faithful.

Thanks again for any help.

Yes, there is a database that can hold the billions of text messages that are made each day.

Do the phone companies have a tape of every phone call made? Of course not. Therefore why would you think that a company would have a record of actual text messages?

Irish, why don't you just ask her instead of sleuthing around? Just don't ask her in an accusatory way. I'm sure you can find a way to approach her. She is your wife.
