The hospital she is taking her training is part of a medical teaching facility, in Nebraska, and the facility provides, at no cost, a student health doctor who is contracted by the facility. He is a private practice physician who puts in 3-4 hrs a day so the hours he is available is limited. My daughter informs me that when she has to see the student health doctor, the student health doctor's nurse calls her dept supervisor to verify her doctor's office vist, what she was seen for and what the diagnosis/treatment is. Is this legal? What about patient- doctor confidentiality? And what about them verifying that she or anyone else had been to the doctor? The "verification of the patient's visit to the student health clinic" makes the nurse, in my opinion, a "tattletale". Does the supervisor have a right to know that someone has gone to the student health doctor? |

Okay, let's see . . . you're talking about "the right to privacy", so it sounds like a Constitutional issue. Try that law board.
Good luck to you.
