domestic partnership

What is the name of your state? LA
I am in a domestic partnership and we are planning on buying property and building a home together. How can I protect myself from any bad financial situations? Any thoughts appreciated

Don't invest in any property unless you are specifically named on the deed as a joint owner of the property...DO NOT do it.

Even then, expect it to be a mess if/when you and your partner break up.
