What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Louisiana. I am subimitting this question on behalf of my brother who does not have a email address.
He own a home in Louisiana, he met a girl, she became pregnant and he moved her into his home. Shortly after their baby was born, they began having domestic problems. They have been together for nine months. Two months ago she had him arrested for battery. He swears that he did not touch her. She had a restraining order placed against him, and when he was released from jail, the court told him that he could not go home. She keep telling the DA that she and the baby have no place to go (which is not true). Each time the court tell him that he can't go home. How long can he be kept away from his property? He is the only person on the mortgage and he is still paying all the bills while he live with family. What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? He needs to evict her from the home. She is a tenant there - albeit, probably an unpaying one. Be prepared that he will pay child support for the child.
