Elderly Parent's Driving

Arizona
I am wondering if adult children can be held liable for injuries or damages caused by their elderly parent's driving, if they have knowledge that a doctor has told their parent it is time to stop driving, and they do not do anything to prevent their parent from driving?

Another way to word the question is, do adult children of the elderly have a duty to stop their parent from driving once they become unsafe drivers?

While I suspect there is no LEGAL obligation, there is certainly a moral one.

if the parent is driving the child's car, there is a legal obligation.

Nothing stated by me should be taken as giving you legal advice or forming an attorney/client relationship. The devil is in the details after all.

Contact your local chapter of the Alzheimer's Association. The have strategies for helping to stop unsafe elderly drivers from driving, without their families having to be the "bad guys" and yanking their car keys. Its important to contact the local chapter, because the strategies vary by state, depending on state law.
