Estate in Texas

My aunt and uncle have been married over twenty years. Both are now in very poor health. My uncle’s will leaves everything to his son. My uncle is now in the hospital and is not expected to live more than two weeks. The son is already calling my mother and saying you had better do something with her (meaning my aunt) so my dad can die in peace. All my aunt has is her social security. She is legally blind and needs someone to administer her medication. Do we have any recourse where she might be able to get part of his estate in order to help support her? She is in Texas and we are in Arizona.

We would like to put her in a rest home here in Arizona where we can make sure she is cared for. Is there anyway we can make his estate pay for it?

See a lawyer. What is in both their names? Such as the house? Stocks or other holdings ect? Your Uncle can't will away her share. For instance, the deed is in both their names, he can't simply say I leave this residence to spoiled child brat who deserves nothing anyway and your Aunt gets nothing. Many states have laws where the wife gets a percentage regardless. See a professional.
